Flights grounded by easyJet at Bristol
Budget airline easyJet has cancelled all its flights to and from Bristol international airport due to concerns over its newly resurfaced runway.

According to easyJet, which operates 34 flights at the city airport daily, the reliability of Bristol's runway is in doubt.

"The safety of its passengers, crew and aircraft is easyJet's first priority and this decision has been taken following extensive discussions with Bristol international airport and the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)," the firm said today.

Customers affected by today's decision are entitled to a full refund or a free transfer onto another flight within the next month.

easyJet expects to review the situation at 12:00 GMT today.

No other carriers operating at Bristol, including British Airways, have opted to cancel their flights.
