Working mothers finding it difficult to balance their commitments could benefit from flexible working, it has been claimed.
A survey conducted by Citrix online in partnership with Mother@Work found that 78 per cent of mums are feeling the pressure of balancing work and their home life ahead of Christmas.
The report also noted that 79 per cent of those surveyed said that flexible working would enable them to "juggle" their commitments more effectively during the Christmas period.
Denise Tyler, editor of Mother@Work, said: "Flexible working options can go a long way to helping mums cope with the stress of balancing work and home life."
Parents who have children under the age of six are legally entitled to request flexible work and it is "encouraging" that many employers are offering people these options, she added.
Ann McCracken, vice chair of the International Stress Management Association, said that flexible working can be used to "positively" manage working days better.
