Many employees are worried about working from home as they feel they be missing out on opportunities in the workplace, new research has discovered.
According to Durler Consulting, workers worry about missing out on staff interaction and promotion opportunities.
Although, one company suggested that employees could save as much as £2,000 a year as part of the benefits of working from home, Online Recruitment reports.
Operation human resources manager Valda Lax of Keoghs Solicitors commented that technology can help firms overcome some barriers of flexible working.
"Technological advances such as portable computers, broadband connections, Skype and video conferencing eliminate the obstacles for many; employers need to be open to offering self-motivated employees the option to home work, as it is much more feasible than many people realise," she told the news source.
She added that all employers should be looking at ways to improve efficiency.
Last week, pay and benefits specialist Croner said a third of the people it surveyed concerning company benefits said they wanted to have the option of flexible working.
