Finance professionals 'should consider oil and gas industries'

There is a shortage of skilled finance professionals in Scotland's oil and gas industry, meaning it could be the perfect opportunity for those who are newly qualified or looking for a change of job.
In the opinion of Keith Mason, regional director at Hay's Senior Finance in Scotland, many senior finance workers would not normally consider job roles in this sector.
However, he claims that there is a high rate of pay in Aberdeen and advised that it could be an excellent career move.
"Newly qualifieds are getting £30,000 - £35,000 straight out of the profession. It is a route that is really worth pursuing," he explained.
There has also been a 12-18 per cent pay increase over the past two years.
According to a summer review published by the Association of Graduate Recruiters, accountancy and banking are the top employment sectors, taking on almost a third of graduates between them.
