A new service has been set up to give employees in the film and television industry confidential employment advice.
Workline is a free service run by HR staff with "many years experience in the industry" and advice is available on the website and through confidential emails or telephone calls.
Film and TV employees will be able to ask questions about pertinent issues such as pay rises, flexible hours, redundancy, holiday, maternity leave, pension schemes and freelancing.
Workline is sponsored by Women in Film and Television, sector skills council Skillset and the UK Film Council and supported by employment lawyers Goodman Derrick LLP.
UK Film Council (UKFC) chairman Stewart Till, who is also deputy chairman of Skillset, said: "With an industry as rapidly changing as ours, a service such as this is as vital to employers as it is to employees and freelancers."
The creation of Workline follows recent government legislation to promote the fair treatment of people on work experience placements within the film and TV industry.
The new guidelines were drawn up in response to complaints of unfair practices and at the request of the industry to clarify where National Minimum Wage legislation applies.
