Indian software firm Tech Mahindra has announced it is to invest in a new centre for the development of business service delivery in Belfast that is expected to boost the local IT sector.
Potentially creating 200 new IT jobs, the company said that its new centre is to provide services aimed at its customer base in the European and US markets.
Sanjay Kalra, president of strategic initiatives at Tech Mahindra, said: "Belfast has this refreshing attitude and the spirit of innovation in abundance."
The move will mean that Indian IT companies now employ more than 2,500 people in Northern Ireland.
Announcing the company's financial results last month, Anand Mahindra, chairman of the firm, said that a 108 per cent increase in revenues during the fourth quarter demonstrated "outstanding" growth.
Earlier in the month, British aeronautical engineering firm Morson Projects announced that it would be opening a new facility that would create up to 50 new jobs, the Irish Times reports.
