There is a shortage of skilled IT workers in the west, one expert has said.
Speaking to Computing magazine, Duncan Aitchison of outsourcing advisory specialist TPI said that IT workers should focus on developing their specialist skills.
"We generally do not have enough skilled talent in the west any more," he told the news source.
He added that he does not "underestimate" the skills problem as IT workers now need management skills.
"These days you have to be able to drive and manage projects ¬and these are skills that firms are much less likely to outsource," Mr Aitchison, a partner at the firm, said.
He remarked that the face of technology had changed.
Managing director of Parity Training Rick Firth recently stated that IT managers are lacking in business know-how.
Many companies have invested in technical expertise, he said, but failed to train their employees with professional abilities.
