Companies looking to save money when recruiting may be interested to learn the opinion of one industry expert who claims that job boards are the way forward when it comes to hiring staff.
According to Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board, they are far more cost effective for firms than using other methods such as the media or traditional recruitment agencies.
He also believes that the services offered may be especially useful in the coming months and that job boards should take advantage of the financial downturn.
"When times are tight, which they might potentially be next year for organisations in the UK these companies can save money by recruiting through job boards and so we feel we are in a good position for next year," Mr Farrell said.
According to the latest REC IT and Communications Demand and Supply in the IT Sector report, there was an increase in the number of workers in the IT sector in the second and third quarters of 2008.
