Executive job opportunities 'expected to grow in some sectors'
16-01-2009
A new report has suggested that despite the economic downturn, there are some employment sectors which will flourish over the coming year.
The Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) 2009 Member Outlook expects executive job opportunities in healthcare to increase, Recruiter reports.
Similarly, the number of executive positions available in pharmaceuticals, government and natural resources is also expected to grow.
AESC president Peter Felix said: "Other sectors will begin to step up their executive hiring as the current uncertainty dissipates and greater optimism begins to work its way into boardrooms."
Overall, it is thought by AESC members that recruitment in education, professional services, media and entertainment and IT will also remain strong in 2009.
Earlier this week, the Construction Industry Council said that there are still some major projects being undertaken which are providing work for people in the construction industry.
