Despite a tunnel fire, Eurostar has reported higher third-quarter sales.
Sales rose 2.4 per cent over the quarter to £152.3 million, while passenger numbers rose 6.4 per cent.
Eurostar said passenger numbers rose "despite Eurotunnel's closure of the Channel Tunnel on September 11th and 12th, which caused a reduced level of Eurostar services for the rest of the month."
Eurotunnel said last week it has contracted the repair work out to a group of companies, at an expected cost of £60 million.
"The goal is to regain full operations in the North Tunnel by mid February," Jacques Gounon, chairman and chief executive of Groupe Eurotunnel said.
The company also saw a disruption to services earlier in the month, with industrial action leading to cancelled services on the line.
