Birmingham-based engineering firm JS Wright is set to increase the size of its workforce by 15 per cent following a successful year.
Aiming to double its turnover for 2007-08, the firm is looking to recruit a number of new members of staff, including service engineers, a commercial designer, a resident estimating engineer and office-based positions, Onrec.com reports.
Marcus Aniol, managing director at the firm, said: "We originally planned to recruit the new staff in 2010 but our nationwide business has been so successful that we need new staff now."
As part of its future plans for expansion, the company hopes to reach a turnover target of £18 million in 2007-08, before achieving a figure of £24 million in 2010-11.
Earlier in the week the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills reported that the last year had seen an increase in the number of applications for science, technology and engineering university courses.
