Top tips to avoid workplace stress
Advice has been offered to employees on ways they can reduce the amount of stress they experience in the office.

Of 2,000 adults surveyed in a new YouGov poll, 44 per cent claimed they feel more pressurised because of the recession while 65 per cent were worried about redundancies.

As a result, Pivotal Performance has suggested people try to get more sleep and also engage in office banter, as laughing can lower stress levels, Onrec.com reports.

On a more serious note, taking more breaks, developing better time management skills and listening carefully are also advisable.

Jane Gillham from Pivotal Performance explained that stress can lower production levels.

"All that worrying is not good for your mind or body and is likely to affect you," she added.

Work Wise UK has previously argued that on occasions, adults can be treated like children at work because they are not trusted when it comes to flexible working.
