Employers adopting 'online only' approach to recruitment
26-11-2008
Around two-thirds of employers have already adopted an 'online only' approach to recruitment, it has been claimed.
Personnel Today has reported on the opinions of Carl Gilleard, chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters, who says that online recruitment can help businesses to manage the vast amount of applications they receive.
He said: "There's a greater emphasis on employers to be more transparent about their recruitment processes and what they're looking for and an online approach enables them to do this."
Futhermore, the UK is "significantly" more advanced when it comes to the use of the internet for recruitment than many other countries, Mr Gilleard states.
More and more organisations, such as the army, are using technology to find the best possible people to fill vacancies.
It was recently reported by Onrec.com that River Island has become the latest high street fashion retailer to use online recruitment to hire sales staff for its 200 UK stores.
