Thousands of UK workers are expecting to receive healthy bonuses for the last financial year, according to research.
Investec Private Bank said 294,000 employees thought they were going to get a bonus of between £50,000 and £100,000, while a further 84,000 believed they would get at least £100,000.
The research did not specify which sectors respondents to the poll worked in.
Men were far more optimistic about the size of their bonus than women, expecting to receive £19,500, against women's £8,400 average.
The most popular ways of spending the windfall was holidays (30 per cent), while 22 per cent said they would save the money.
Almost a quarter (22 per cent) said they would use their bonus to pay off an unsecured debt.
Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics shows there have been fewer redundancies and the numbers of people in a job rose in the three months up to February.
