A new online recruitment partnership is set to enhance Oxfordshire County Council's employment services.
The council has enlisted the help of Abacus e-media to bolster the online recruitment services it first adopted in 2006, reported onrec.com.
With 20,000 employees, the council is aiming to implement an improved online programme which will help them deal more efficiently with jobseekers and advertising vacancies.
Grainne Darnton, recruitment manager for the council, said that the new e-programme has proved to be "cost-effective" and "easy to use".
"Instead of having to distribute hard copies of applications to managers, they are now able to view the entire process online and better understand the stages we have to go through."
It appears that online recruitment is being increasingly embraced by UK institutions, with London University's Birkbeck College recently praising a new e-recruitment method it adopted four months ago.
