Deloitte: Recruitment and training to take priority
06-08-2008
Recruitment and employee training are set to take top priority over the coming year, a report has found.
Of the entrepreneurial businesses questioned, 27 per cent said staff recruitment and quality training were important and set to be their focus of attention.
The poll also saw shortage of talent cited as the main factor hindering business growth, recruiter.co.uk reported.
Deloitte's head of entrepreneurial business Tony Cohen explained that independent business owners have a "voracious appetite" for expansion and thrive on success.
He said: "It comes as no surprise that their greatest financial investment for the year ahead will be in recruiting and training the right people to help grow the business."
The Deloitte report also found that almost half of entrepreneurial businesses recruit externally and 47 per cent would prefer to promote internally.
According to advice from figurewizard.com, small businesses could benefit from planning careful monthly strategies in order to minimise the effects of the current credit crunch.
