In the middle of job cuts and recruitment freezes, recruitment company Joslin Rowe has claimed that activity within these sectors is actually healthier than during previous years.
Daniel Cooper, senior consultant for the firm, said that despite the credit crunch and the "usual summer slowdown", there is a thriving demand for benefits and compensation employees, Personnel Today reported.
"Companies are keener than ever to build robust compensation platforms for the future and they know to do that they must hire the very best compensation people in strategic roles to do this," Mr Cooper commented.
He also stated that the company recently transferred an employee on £40,000 a year to a post with a starting salary of £55,000 - an increase in earnings of 38 per cent.
A recent poll undertaken by consultants Badenoch and Clark found that human resource employees claim to be happier in their jobs this quarter despite an increased workload.
With the world-wide talent shortage now in full swing, ClickAJob Marketing Manager Anders Jensen welcomes the trend.
"More and more, employers know they need to offer more than attractive take-home pay," he explains.
"If the right skills can be satisfied, any worthwhile job offer has to show it can become a relationship that will go places, advance an applicant's career and have a real future to offer."
"A good work/life balance and a fulfilling job are now recognised as essential enticements to be competitive," he continues.
"Add a really imaginative compensation package, and career professionals know that their employer is serious about making an investment in them," he continues.
"Few incentives could be more reassuring than that."
