Communication is 'all important at an interview'
Perfecting communication skills may be one of the key ways to succeed in the interview room, one expert suggests.

Joe McDermott, chief executive officer at, believes that an interview is the best chance job seekers have to sell themselves and their skills.

He also advises candidates to give evidence of their abilities and talents by giving real examples of when they have succeeded.

Mr McDermott has released his top tips for interviewees to help them do well in an interview room, and stresses the need for good personal appearance and knowledge about they job they are applying for.

Finally, he reminds job seekers that although their CV may have secured them the interview, it will not secure them the job. Performance in an interview situation is vital to make an impression on companies.

Meanwhile, the fight for jobs may get tougher as a report by consultancy CMC revealed that 52 per cent of human resources firms say they are likely to cut staff levels over the next year, Personnel Today wrote.
