Financiers working in the City may leave their current company if they are not paid a big enough bonus, it has been suggested.
According to eFinancialCareers.com, over half (52 per cent) of City workers are prepared to find new employment if they do not receive a good enough reward for their efforts.
Following an uncertain week of trading on the stock markets and a number of large firms such as the Lehman Brothers announcing huge job cuts in recent months, the editor of eFinancialCareers.com, Sarah Butcher, remarked the banking sector remains buoyant.
"Financial professionals seem to be optimistic about the prospects of finding work elsewhere, should they look for it," she said.
However, financiers in the far east are more confident about the employment market, she added.
"Attitudes amongst far east bankers appear to be more in line with the attitudes of UK bankers 12 months ago than today," Ms Butcher commented.
