Jobseekers looking to enter the human resources sector (HR) may be interested to hear the latest move from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
The group has unveiled a HR Profession Map to replace its existing professional standards structure.
It is hoped that this will help those entering the industry to gain the skills needed for the job now and as in grows in the future.
In 2010, the CIPD is also introducing a new set of qualifications for those working in HR.
Jackie Orme, chief executive of the CIPD, told Personnel Today: "The HR profession is changing. More will be required of the HR professional of the future and today's practitioners need to be equipped with the capabilities to meet these demands."
Meanwhile, the Work Foundation recently launched a new research scheme entitled the Future of HR Programme to look closely at the role of the profession.
