Banking and finance jobs seem to have recovered following substantial falls in the number of vacancies over recent months, one survey has revealed.
According to the Monster Employment Index, the banking, finance and insurance sector increased by 28 points in October after three months of decline.
Regional director of Monster Worldwide Europe Andrea Bertone commented that many sectors had a strong month.
"Most industries in the UK saw substantial growth in October," she said.
Education, training and library opportunities in the web were also prevalent last month, the poll revealed.
Monster stated that the rise in demand in the finance, banking and insurance sector was due an increased requirement for professionals, associate professionals and technicians, with Northern Ireland and the Midlands seeing the biggest increases.
This follows recent figures from Joslin Rowe, who noted a financial jobs boom in Glasgow, particularly in the accountancy sector, with candidates being offered tempting remuneration packages.
