The average advertised salary for jobs in the UK is just over £30,000, a new survey has found.
According to Allthetopbananas.com, vacancies in the UK are on average advertising a position paying £31,290 a year with, perhaps unsurprisingly, jobs in London paying more than any other region in the UK.
The average advertised vacancy in inner London is £37,991, followed by positions in Scotland, East Anglia, the West Midlands and the south-east all advertising average salaries of over £28,000.
Propping up the list is the east midlands, with job vacancies in this region only advertising an annual salary of £24,940 on average.
The north-west, Yorkshire and Humber and the north-east were also at the bottom of the compiled poll, with average advertised earnings in these areas not surpassing £27,000.
Yesterday the Bank of Scotland announced that Scottish companies are struggling to find suitable candidates for positions advertised in the country.
