Analysts unclear about construction industry recovery
Analysts are unsure as to when the construction industry will begin to recover from the recession, it has been suggested.

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) claims that the sector is changing every day meaning people are all expecting different times for recovery.

However, many are predicting it will occur some time between the third quarter of 2010 through to the middle of 2011.

Graham Watts, chief executive of the CIC, said: "I don't think anybody's got a very clear picture of when the recovery will come.

"That's the nature of the beast; if everybody knew when these things were going to happen then they would be very rich," he added.

In December, the National House Building Council reported that construction began on around 103,000 new homes in 2008 compared to 200,697 in 2007.

The number of applications to build new homes also fell.
