New research has revealed that IT managers often deal with absurd and outlandish requests from company employees.
Furthermore, the survey by software firm Sunrise showed many workers are clueless about technology and IT managers have to show them how to switch on their laptops, reports PublicTechnology.net.
One IT manager told Sunrise that he had to clean out vomit from a laptop after a worker's son was sick on it.
Chairman at Sunrise Tom Weston noted that such a role is a "skilled job" but IT managers must not underestimate the need to possess "people skills and time management".
"As Facebook generation graduates get established in business, you'd think that general IT skills in users would improve, but it seems the opposite is happening," he said.
The average advertised salary for jobs in IT is now £34,217 - an increase of 4.1 per cent in 12 months, CV Screen revealed last week.
