Those working in the travel industry may be pleased to hear that an increasing number of people going on holiday may help recruitment levels.
According to a survey conducted by travelsupermarket.com, the average number of holidays planned per person this year will increase from 1.5 to 1.8, Recruiter reports.
Therefore, the industry may not suffer from the job cuts currently taking place across many sectors in the UK, Management Search Executive believes.
Nina Johnson Bennett, managing director at the company, said people will probably be spending less on their holidays.
"In terms of recruitment, it is not going to produce more jobs. What it might do is prevent loss of jobs."
She thinks that people are looking for the 'eel good factor during the economic downturn and choosing a holiday as a solution.
